ZiplineThe drone delivery company has made one million commercial drone deliveries to customers, completed more than 70 million commercial autonomous miles on four continents, and delivered more than 10 million items.

The company is also launching Zipline’s Platform 2 (P2) system, which will be used by Panera Bread, Memorial Hermann Health System, and Jets from the Seattle metropolitan area, Houston metropolitan area, and Detroit metropolitan area, respectively.・It will also be used to deliver pizza orders.

“For the past 10 years, we have worked hard to build a system that scales to 1 million paid deliveries to customers. In the near future, we will make 1 million deliveries per year, per month, per day. , so 1 million deliveries is not surprising,” said Ryan Oksenhorn, co-founder and head of software at Zipline. “He thinks that 10 years from now, clean, reliable, automated delivery of goods and services will be available to everyone.”

Following recent regulatory approvals, Zipline is now expanding in the U.S., beginning the rollout of P2, which is expected to serve more than 30 million people across 10 U.S. states over the next few years. Among the companies partnering with Zipline is Flynn Group, the world’s largest franchise operator, which operates the Panera Bread brand. Another customer is Memorial Hermann Health System, one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in Texas. The system plans to use Zipline to deliver specialized prescriptions and medical equipment directly to patients’ homes, as well as transport medicines, medical products and lab samples between facilities. Jet’s Pizza, which has more than 400 stores in 22 states, will begin using Zipline to deliver orders from its home base in Detroit.

With approximately 4 billion instant deliveries made in the U.S. each year, this expansion comes at a time when more people are seeking consistent and convenient delivery options. In addition to its medical partnerships in Africa, Zipline is looking to enter this large U.S. market.
